Understanding Colour Variation

Colour consistency in garments can be influenced by several factors throughout the textile manufacturing process, including:

  • Variations in fabric composition and fibre characteristics
  • Differences in dye absorption between fabric batches
  • Environmental factors such as water quality, temperature, and humidity
  • Manufacturing and dyeing processes across different production periods and facilities

As a result, slight colour variations may occur between production runs, even when the same colour specification is used.

Managing Colour Consistency

Every effort is made to achieve the closest possible colour match across all garments and production batches. Approved colour standards and quality control procedures are used throughout the manufacturing process to maintain consistency and ensure products meet our quality expectations.

However, due to the nature of textile dyeing and fabric production, exact colour matching cannot always be guaranteed.

Industry Standard Tolerance

Within the apparel and textile industry, minor shade variations are considered normal and acceptable. A difference of up to one shade lighter or darker between production batches falls within standard manufacturing tolerance.

Even when garments are produced using the same specifications and dye formulations, slight variations may occur from batch to batch.

Quality Assurance

All garments undergo multiple quality control inspections throughout the production process to assess colour accuracy, fabric quality, and overall finish.

While these measures help minimise variation and maintain a high standard of quality, small differences in colour between production batches remain an inherent characteristic of textile manufacturing and should be expected.

For colour-critical orders, we recommend requesting a physical sample or confirming stock from the same production batch where possible.
